Unblocking Traps

Traps is one of the most common and affected areas where blockages occur. You can use snakes in order to unblock and unclog traps but if you are looking at a sink trap, you will need to dismantle it.
Here are some materials and tools that you will need:
- A bucket
- A bowl
- An old toothbrush
- Some replacement washers
Here are the steps involved:
The first thing you need to do is to unhinge the trap. Place an empty bowl to catch all the water that will otherwise fall to the ground or wood that is below the sink that forms the bottom of the cabinet. Remove all the debris and wash the trap thoroughly using a bucket full of clean water.
You can also use some soap but that is not really required. Use the old toothbrush for the cleaning process. Don’t use the toothbrush you are currently using for your teeth! You are not Napoleon Dynamite!
You cannot really use the toothbrush again for dental hygiene as just emphasized! After you are done with the cleaning, replace the trap back in its original position. While you are at it, it is an astute idea to replace the old washers with new ones so you do not have to repeat the cleaning process for a long time. You have other things to do like work so you provide for your family, scratch your cat’s belly, read a book, watch the movie Blackhat, and so on.
Unclogging Sink Drains

Your bathroom sink is another area which gets regularly clogged up. The clog, most of the time, can be found near the popup assembly area of the drain.
As far as materials and tools are concerned, you will only need a drain plug adjustment arm. Here are the steps:
You will need to remove the spring tab from the drain plug adjustment arm first. After that, remove the ball valve from the sink trap. You will then find the popup plugs that must be removed too. Clean the debris that is clogging up the sink area. Put everything back together. There now, you are done for the day. Well, not quite, now you have to mow the lawn!
Cleaning Clogged Toilets
If, when you flush your toilet, you see that the water is rising to the rim level and draining very slowly, you know that the trap or drain is blocked. You will need a plunger and a snake in order to resolve this.
You have to pull the section part of the snake out of the drum. There is a nut that you need to tighten on top of the snake body. To dislodge the blockage, you need to rotate the drum so that the snake burrows right in the waste system.
Weak Shower Pressure

One of the most common reasons behind a weaker shower pressure is the buildup of lime scale which is a slow process. For cleaning this lime scale buildup, you will need a bowl, screwdriver, and a descaling solution.
Here are the steps:
The first step is to unscrew or remove the shower head from the hose. You cannot really clean anything unless you can access the inner side of the hose. This is where the lime scale gets buildup.
There is a spray plate that you will need to unscrew in order to remove it. Use the descaling solution to remove the lime scale from the spray plate. Clean it thoroughly. It is a salient idea to leave the spray plate inside the solution for a few hours to completely remove the lime scale. Do not forget to flush the pipes in order to clean it. This should remove all the lime scale that has accumulated in there. Put everything back together.
